Ancientness
"Handling an animal of this size hits you in a different way from an emotional standpoint," OCEARCH founding chairman and expedition leader Chris Fischer told Newsweek. "You feel this sense of awe for the animal. You sense its age and get this feeling of ancientness, seeing all of its old scars and marks from a long-lived life."

Though the Old Town retains only a few architectural traits of Vietnamese and Asian peoples, it is its lifestyle that attests to its ancientness.

N2 - The study explores visitors' image of a destination using online visitor-generated photography and compares the findings with images of the same destination that marketers create and control on the Internet. The two studies are conducted with Taiwan as the context-destination. Online visitor-generated photography yielded more than 100 photographs from visitors to Taiwan, and indicates that visitors' holistic image encompasses notions of Taiwanese uniqueness, ancientness, and authenticity through their perceptions of the natural landscapes, traditional local cuisine, and culture. The second study yielded 1,526 visual image representations of Taiwan collected from a variety of website sources, and findings highlight the disparities between the holistic image construed by visitors to Taiwan and the image created by marketers on the Internet. The findings yield important implications for the effective positioning and promotion of tourism destinations as managers should consider visitors' holistic images in their attempt to create destination images through online visual representations

From time immemorial it was the custom among all civilized nations to set apart some day during the year, as a day of public thanksgiving, for the abundant fruits which the God of nature and the Seasons vouchsafed to his creature, man.--Thanksgiving was not always rendered up to the Throne of Grace for the fruits of the earth alone, but for the various other manifestations of Divine favor; such as escape from pestilence, victory in battle, deliverance, &c., as set forth by Meriam when the hosts of Israel walked safely through the Dead Sea, and escaped from their enemies and oppressors, the Egyptians. Many precedents can be cited to prove the ancientness of this established custom and its appropriateness. But under the present order of things it's unnecessary and superfluous. The order came under Washington to offer up thanks--for the clemency, doubtless, that we are no worse off, and that we are allowed to breathe, at least--if nothing better--God's free air without interference of Radical bayonets, in this sweet land of liberty (!). Heaven save the mark!

Résumé The ancientness inherent to the french "société en nom collectif" leads today to the question of its identity and legitimacy. Regarding its identity, the examination of the legal and tax rules which apply to it shows that the SNC is still very close to the historical model by which it is inspired. Indeed the SNC appears as an autonomous structure of paternship between tradesmen who base the financial credibility of their union on their personal property. As for the legitimacy of the SNC, the marginalization of its use to situations of tax optimization leads to the question of the withdrawal of this company and its tax scheme. Despite the fact that the legal and tax rules applicable to the SNC have to be amended in order to be in accordance with the logic on which this company is based, the SNC remains a legal structure particulary adapted to carry on a trade, and consequently appears legitimized.
In the paradoxes of the national and the foreign that marked the modernism, the disease of Nabuco was a sort of emblem with high cultural significance. It was almost always treated from the perspective of an import matter, artistic or literary, but little has been said about the landscape and the historical background of its content. This the first point of this paper, which explores the value of ancientness at the experience of the landscape, very present in the reflection on the role of the travel chronicles in real and imaginary transfigurations of Brazil, during the first half of the twentieth century. Finally, the paper discusses the critique and especially the way by which that generation dealt with the attraction of the world and the desire of a Brazilian cultural originality. 041b061a72
